Vow!
This album is a milestone within popular music. It's quite
frankly a musical revolution - the year is 1966 and we are
talking indian sitars, guitars and drums looped backwards
and a sound so futuristic that that the future has yet to
catch up with it. George Harrison is first out with Taxman,
which is followed by McCartney's classic Eleanor
Rigby - a sombre yet delightful reflection on life and
loneliness. John Lennon's I'm
Only Sleeping is just wonderful, whereas darker tunes
such as She
Said She Said and
Doctor Robert
give Revolver that slightly eery feel about it. The album
closer Tomorrow
Never Knows gave the genre of popular music a whole
new dimension. Revolver is an album that will continue to
inspire new generations of musicians in years to come.
