It's
not just the sheer quality of each and every song that makes
Abbey Road so special - it's also the way it's been put
together. This was the Beatles' last recording, and some
will argue that it's their best. The second part of the
album, originally side B of the record, is almost like a
rock opera, where the songs just flow into one another.
It's difficult to pick highlights from an album where every
song is a winner, but the wonderful and harmonic Because
just sums up the whole album; It's sharply written, brilliantly
performed and well produced. George Harrison is peaking
as a song writer and on Abbey Road he delivers his two arguably
finest songs ever. The tender ballad Something
earned him his first A-side on a Beatles single, and he
sings brilliantly on the pretty and uplifting Here
Comes The Sun. Only The Beatles could make an album
as good as Abbey Road, it really deserves all the praise
it has received. It's an album that will continue to inspire
generations in years to come. Great music.
