I've Got A Feeling, or "I've Got A Fever" as John Lennon called it between the takes, was really two unfinnished songs that were merged together as one piece. The first part of the song was written by McCartney, presumably about his girlfriend and later wife, Linda Eastman. Meanwhile, Lennon had an idea to a song called Everyody Had A Hard Year, which happened to fit in with Paul's song.

It was actually true that Lennon had been though a hard year in 1968. He had divorced his wife Cynthia and was seperated from his son Julian. On top of that, Yoko On had suffered a miscarriage.

I've Got A Feeling was included in the set when the Beatles performed their legendary and unannounced roof top concert on January 30 1969.
