It was Lennon's idea to open this track with a controlled
feedback sound. This was achieved by Paul plucking a single
bass string while Lennon was getting feedback by using his
volume pedal and pointing the pickups towards the amplifier.
This little experiment pretty much set the tone for the
rest of the song. Lennon and Harrison played the bluesy
guitar riff in unison throughout parts of the song,
and it worked delightfully well (guitarists will know that
the riff is quite difficult to learn.) The only downside
with this track is perhaps the lyrics.
I Feel Fine hit UK and US charts in December 1964, staying
at no 1 for 5 and 3 weeks respectively.
I Feel Fine
(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)
Baby's good to me you know
She's happy as can be, you know
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
Baby says
she's mine, you know
she tells me all the time, you now
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
I'm so
glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad she's telling all the world
That her baby buys her things you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine
Baby says
she's mine, you know
she tells me all the time, you now
She said so
I'm in love with her and I feel fine
I'm so
glad that she's my little girl
She's so glad she's telling all the world
That her baby buys her things you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She's in love with me and I feel fine
She's in love with me and I feel fine
