Her Majesty
(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)
Paul McCartney:
Vocals, acoustic guitar
Recorded
July 2, 1969.
Available on:
Abbey
Road
Her Majesty
was initially placed bewteen Mean
Mr Mustard and Polythene
Pam on the Abbey Road album, but McCartney changed his
mind and asked for the track to be edited out and deleted.
Assitant engineer John Kurlander did edit the track out,
but he had been instructed by EMI not to delete anything,
so he put the track at the end of the tape instead, about
twenty seconds after where the tape was supposed to end.
When McCartney discovered this, he absoulutely loved it,
and decided that Her Majesty should be a last "bonus"
song on the Abbey Road record.
Her Majesty
(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)
Her majesty's
a pretty nice girl
but she doesn't have a lot to say
Her majesty's a pretty nice girl
but she changes from day to day
I wanna tell her that I love her a lot
but I gotta get a belly full of wine
Her majesty's a pretty nice girl
someday I'm gonna make her mine
Oh, yeah, some day I'm gonna make her mine
