Here, There And Everywhere is one of Paul McCartney's own
favorites from the Beatles period. He wrote it while sitting
by John's outdoor pool, waiting for his friend to get out
of bed.
Some have
speculated if the song is an attempt to capture the same
mood as Brian Wilson's God Only Knows from the Beach Boys'
1966-album Pet Sounds. Both Lennon and McCartney admired
this record, and McCartney was particularly found of the
song God Only Knows.
Alternative
versions of Here, There and Everywhere can be heard on Anthology
2, Unplugged from 1991 and Paul Is Live from 1993, the latter
from Sydney.
Here There and Everywhere
(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)
To lead
a better life, I need my love to be here
Here, making each day of the year
Changing my life with a wave of her hand
Nobody can deny that theres something there
There, running my hands through her hair
Both of us thinking how good it can be
Someone in speaking but she doesnt know hes
there
I want her everywhere
and if shes beside me I know I need never care
But to love her is to meet her everywhere
Knowing that my love is to share
Each one believing that love never dies
Watching her eyes and hoping Im always there
To be there and everywhere
Here, there and everywhere
