Dr. Robert
refers to Dr. Robert Freyman, a German 'speed doctor' in
New York, who had a reputation of being too generous when
precribing drugs to his patients.
Freyman
was in fact known for injecting 'vitamin' shots - laced
with amphetamines - to his celebrity patients. He later
claimed that he had a 100 celebrity clients on his list.
Freyman
lost his license in 1968 and was removed from the New York
Medical Society in 1975. He died in 1987.
