Surprisingly, Lennon later referred to this tune as a "throwaway" song. It's remains a classic for many Beatles fans, not least becasue of the memorable guitar riff.

The riff is actually played by two guitars simultaneously, probably by George and Paul.

Eagles-guitarist Joe Walsh has said he practiced day in and day out to learn this riff when he was a teenager. He thought Harrison was playing the double guitar lines simultaneously, and had to play the record at slow speed in order to play along to it. Several years later, Walsh actually met Harrison who then revealed that the Beatles had used two guitars.

And Your Bird Can Sing

(John Lennon/Paul McCartney)

You tell that you’ve ev’rything you want
And your bird can sing
But you don’t get me
You don’t get me

You say you’ve seen seven wonders
And your bird is green
But you can’t see me
You can’t see me

When your prized possessions start to wear you down
Look in my direction
I’ll be round, I’ll be round

When your bird is broken
Will it bring you down?
You may be awoken
I’ll be round, I’ll be round

Tell me that you’ve heard everry sound there is
And your bird can swing
But you can’t hear me
You can’t hear me
